Close to my Heart Quick Cards

Do you like to make cards but sometimes you just don't have a lot of time? We have the answer! Close to my Heart has 23 of these A size stamp sets! They are just $6.95!
This card I used our Quick Card Shell. I took a sponge dauber and dipped it in the sunset stamp pad and applied it to the shell part of the stamp. Then I took another sponge dauber and repeated it with lagoon for the swirls above the shell...then again with olive stamp pad for the saying. Then stamped it! QUICK AND EASY! THEN, I took our color ready seam binding ribbon and colored it! It comes in white and we just added 4 drops of sunset re-inker to our spray pen with some rubbing alcohol and sprayed it! Very fun and easy.

One of my downlines Becky Maboussou showed me how to make these! They are very fun. I am going to have to make more!
This card is our Quick Card Butterfly. Same technique with the sponge daubers and stamp pads. This time we colored the ribbon with Tulip re-inker. Did I tell you these stamps are just $6.95! This is such a GREAT deal! Ready to make your own?

Operation 2012

Since I have decided 2012 is the year I am going to finish up projects...I wanted to share with you the project that I finished recently!
Here is a layout I made using Studio J. It is from our trip to Seattle in September 2009. YIKES! I have most of the pictures done, but I still have a few to do. So I decided to finish them up on Studio J. It took me just about an hour to finish all the pages and now I feel stress free! YEA!
Then, since my son's girlfriend doesn't scrapbook (EEK! I know!) I scrapbook for her...however, I can't do all her's and mine, so I decided to do more Studio J layouts. Did you know if you are a member you can get 4 - 20 2 page layouts shipped FREE AND free page protectors once a month! YEP! Plus you don't have to develop any photos! Just drop them in the photo wells and you are good to go! So for just $6.50 a 2 page layout you are DONE! Give it a try by going to my website and clicking on the Studio J link! There is no fee until you want to purchase your layout!
Cody & Brooke just got back from a quick trip to Breckenridge. They took pictures with their iPhones and sent them to me. I added them to Studio J and within 5 days of being home, they have layouts FINISHED! It is that simple!! Give it a try!

If you would like to learn more about Studio J...just let me now, I will be happy to tell you more!

Girls Like Dinosaurs Too!

Close to my Heart created this video showcasing one of my FAVORITE stamp sets! ROAR! on page 89 of our new Spring/Summer catalog! My boys loved dinosaurs so I guess that is why I love this set! But this video shows you how you can make it be a little more girl friendly.

So I got out this set and recreated these layouts. This first layout is of our son Grant. He had the perfect shirt on for this layout! I love how that works! The colors I used is pear, pacifica, sunset and desert sand. How fun is this layout!

Then I made the girl layout. SO FUN! I went into past pictures and found the ALMOST perfect picture for this layout. My sister in law made dinosaurs for my son and niece for Christmas one year. And her dinosaur was pink and purple! How perfect...but the only picture I had of her she was in the background with her face turned. OH NO! LOL So I guess I will have to leave this blank until some day I have a granddaughter! LOL
I just love the versatility of STAMPS! All you have to do is have different color ink and the possibilities are endless! Today I challenge you to get out your stamps and create something with more of a boy theme and then a girl theme. You will soon see how versatile stamping really is!

Advisory Board Shadow Box

Here is the shadow box that Close to my Heart made for me for being on the Advisory Board last year. It not only was an honor to be asked for the 3rd time (yippee!) but it was so much fun.

They flew us to Park City where we were held captive (literally...LOL) in this amazing condo where we had lots of planning meetings. They gave us goodies and we even had time to play a little with new products.

They made this for us for serving on the board. They used our Typeset paper pack for it. I love what they did...and I will cherish this forever!

Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge

I am having a blast with Close to my Heart's Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge. I was excited when CTMH announced that we were getting this cartridge, and I knew I would use it, but I had NO IDEA I would use it all the time!

Here is a bag I recently made. I used the treat bag and put a black scallop oval bent over the top to make it a closure so now it looks like a cute little purse. You simply attach 1/2 of the oval to the back, score it at the top and bend it over the front. Then squish the sides a little towards the top. VERY EASY!

I made a quick flower on the Cricut and doneI used 2 stamp sets with this. The flourish is from out stamp set Instant Memories (C1466 $13.95) and the "you make me smile" is from our Hooray Bouquet (D1491 $17.95). Side note on the Hooray Bouquet...all the flowers in this set have Cricut images! So you can cut them out, stamp on them and you are done! No more hand cutting! YIPPEE!

If you haven't gotten your Cricut Cartridge yet, you need to! If you have it already...make sure you make some of these great bags!!! They make great gifts for teacher, coworker or friends! Enjoy!

February Group Layouts

It's February and this month my groups are making these layouts using Typeset. I really like this paper pack. It is so versatile.

I have made school layouts with it, a visit to grandpa's house, advisory board and the is other layout of my son and his cousin. I love how these 2 layouts look so different by using the back sides of our pattern paper.

It is a fun and you can do so much with it. Make sure you stop by next week to see my layouts I made using this paper pack and my advisory board pictures!
