Get Organized

Let's get organized! I wanted to show you what I did with Close to my Heart's medium organizer (Z4139 $19.95). This is meant to hold our "bling" for scrapbooking...but I found it nice for cards and pictures too.
I had these plastic folders (like the ones you give your kids for school) and cut them apart to make the dividers. I had a bunch of them so that is why I used them. I put the theme with my label maker...so birthday, thank you, get well. etc. I LOVE it! All my cards use to me in a drawer not by theme and it took a while to find a card. Not anymore.

Then I thought it would be a great way to organize your pictures too. I cut some folder up, put the year on it and put my pictures behind the tab. I also have a spiral notebook that I write all the pictures that i have in the box. This way when I need pictures for layouts, I grab my book, find what pictures will work and to right to the box. DONE!

If you are not organized yet, you might want to be. And starting with this organizer is a great way to get headed in the right direction!

State Stamps

I just LOVE Close to my Heart's state stamps. We have one for each state, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

Here are a few things that I have done with them. The first is a bag of candy that I put a tag on. I love to give little gifts when people are passing through. What better then to give a little gift of your state. These are chocolates that are made here in Nebraska.

The my pad of paper is just a journaling book that I take with us when we travel. I keep notes so when I go to scrapbook I will remember what the specifics were for that date. I don't spend a lot of time on these pages...but I do know when we went to Springfield Illinois. AND, there is my cute little Illinois stamp. I also used it on the layouts too.

I also had these chevron bags in my closet...and thought they would make cute goodie bags for a crop I had. Cut the N from the Cricut and added it too.

So if you travel, give hometown gifts or just like your state, I recommend getting the state that you travel to...or like me, collecting all 50...because my goal is to get to all 50 states.

Happy Valentines Day

Need a quick gift for Valentines day?

Here is something I came up with quickly...I had these clear pillow boxes in the closet, added red candy, used some red ribbon.  I cut a quick tag added some hearts that I cut with our thin cuts (Basic Hearts..this is the bigger one Z3317 $12.95 and the smaller one is "hearts" Z3260 $14.50)
I cut them using red glitter paper (Z3241 $5.95 and Silver glitter paper Z3239 $5.95)

So check out your closet...do you have some box or bag that you can fill with "themed" candy?  You just never know what you have in there!  LOL

More Basic Circle Thin Cuts

Here are a few more bottle tags that I created using our Basic Circle thin cuts (Z3318 $12.95)
I cut the circle for the monogram and the opening to fit over the water bottle using them. FUN!
And I forgot to post the one I made real quick for a Christmas

New Basic Circle Thin Cuts

I have been going crazy with our thin cuts lately...and here is an example! I saw some wine bottle holders at the store for $3.99...I thought...WHAT! That is expensive. So I thought I would make my own.
I started out with a 3 1/2 x 9 piece of white cardstock, score at 3" (see first picture) Then I stamped a wreath at the top, then used our Basic Circle thin cuts (Z3318 $12.95) to cut a hole in the wreath (this goes over the bottle). Then I cut out "Happy Birthday" with Eggplant cardstock using our Happy Birthday thin cuts (Z3304 $9.95) and adhered it to the white cs. I added some stamped balloons (C1660 Happy for You Stamp set $13.95...one of my favorites)
They are fun to make...stop back on Friday to see what else I made using these thin cuts!
