Minnie Mouse Purses

I am currently at our convention in Walt Disney World and it is customary to make gifts for your friends, roommate and downlines.  I wanted to share what I created using both our Artiste & Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridges.  Aren't they STINKIN CUTE!!!

Yes, I made 21 of them!  LOL  The one in the middle doesn't have a bow since I was giving it to our COO who is a male.  LOL
I used our For Always paper pack and our monogram letters.  Want to create your own?  Here is what you will need!

From our Artiste Cricut Cartridge
Purse - page 32 - 3D object cut at 4 1/2"
Bow page 55 - Accent 3 at 1 1/4"
Ears page 48 - card 3" times 2
From our Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge
Scallop page 31 - circle 2 at 1 1/2"
Glitter paper circle scallop page 31 - cut 2 at 1 3/4"
Here is the inside.  You just hook it together and it creates a little box, which I put candy in!

Here's a close up view

Now the bow might not look like a bow flat, but here is how to make it.  You take your "pokey tool" or as some call it piercing tool..and you put it through the middle hole.

Then poke it through the hole to the right like pictured above.

Then do the same on the other side.  Now the whole bow in our your pokey tool

Here is a front view.

Then poke a brad through it and pull off of your pokey tool
EASY!

And to top it off, I made some tags for each.  And because I just couldn't leave it alone, I took a regular hole punch and a small hole punch and made a little Mickey at the bottom of the tag!!  LOL  So cute!

Just one more idea of what you can make with our Cricut Cartridges.  Don't have them yet?  Simple go to my website to purchase them or call/email me, I will be happy to help!

THANK YOU!

Some of you have purchased our Special, Thank You stamp set.  If you purchased it in the month of June...for just $2.95, all proceeds went to help the Tornado victims in Oklahoma.  There is still time to get yours!!  But HURRY!
So anyway, I wanted to show you some cards I made using it.  I pulled out some scraps from a couple kits and here is what I came up with.
This card is using our Later Sk8r paper pack

and this one is using our For Always paper pack.

AND, another special in June was our mini banners.  Did you notice I said "was" our mini banners?  Supplies are gone, but if you got one of them...here is an idea for you.  I took our Tommy paper pack (yes my scraps...gotta use it until it is gone) and created this USA banner.  Fun right!  So get out your scraps, and your banners and get creating!

It's Vacation Time!

Do you need a GREAT vacation stamp set?  I am in love with our Adventure USA (D1503 $17.95).  You can see it on page 87 of our Spring/Summer catalog and below (If you don't have a catalog, you can view it on my website) I used it here on this layout.
LOVE IT!!

I used our Make It From My Heart How to Book and used patterned #9.  The kit I used is our Tommy paper pack.  I like how it was a "nautical" theme, but this layout can be used for any kind of a vacation.

Here is a blown up pictures of the title from the first page of the layout. Again, using the Adventure USA stamp set.  I love the bird too.  It is from our Trinket wooden shapes and I sponged him Outdoor Denim.

Here is a view of the journaling area with another bird above.

And here is my favorite part.  The little car pulling a trailer.  How fun is that!

One more thing about this stamp set...or should I say the Adventure Canada stamp set!!  Very similar and in fact has some of the same stamps in it, but it has some specifically for Canada.  Plus it has the cutes moose stamp!
  Get yours now!!

Got Ribbon?

Let Close to my Heart show you how to use that ribbon!  Check it out!

Graduation Card

So on the recent trip to my friend Julie's house...I had to go in her "girl cave" and check out what she was up to.  We decided we were "on vacation" and we were NOT going to do any scrapbooking or stamping.  Ok...so that didn't last!  LOL  She was making these cute graduation cards so I had to have her show me how to make them!  I had 2 more graduations to go to yet...so it was killing several birds with one stone!!

So you first cut a piece of black cardstock (or whatever color you like) to 4 1/4 x 9 3/4.  Score it at
5 1/2.  Then at the top, score at 2" and cut at a diagonal to the top center.  This will make a point.  See in the picture below how the cardstock comes to a point.  Then invert the folds to make the card fold down.

The inside white piece is 4 x 5 1/4.  You will cut to a point again on this piece too.  So you cut from the 3 1/4 " upward to make the point.
The inside pattern piece is 4 x 4.  Fold diagonally to make this little pocket.  This is where you put the money or your check.  Even a gift card.  The numbers were cut on our Cricut cartridge at 1 1/2".
We even made the tassel by wrapping DMC floss around 2 fingers.  Then wrap the top with gold floss and then use liquid glass to hold it together.  Cut the loops of the tassel so it looks just like a graduation hat.  Add a brad and tada done!
It is actually easier then it sounds!

Birthday Surprise

On our recent trip to Colorado to see my friend Julie...she had this waiting for me!  We got there the day after my birthday so she created all this for ME!

What a GREAT Day!!  I was officially, "on vacation" with my husband and visiting my friend!!  And now I see presents for me!!  YEA ME!  lol

She took a mason jar and painted the outside of it using our re-inker and white craft paint and put BEAUTIFUL flowers in it.  How cute is that!  She made a card for me using my favorite paper pack, Later Sk8r.  Then, if that wasn't enough, she made me a WHOLE pack of cards using Later Sk8r!!!  SHE ROCKS!!

They even made the ride home just fine!
It was a GREAT birthday/vacation and I loved spending it with my husband, my friend Julie and her husband Ken!

Remember to make your friends home made gifts.  They really are better!

Buzz & Bumble goes to Colorado!

So you might have seen our Buzz & Bumble paper pack...well, have you seen it used for a trip to Colorado??  I can't believe it, but my pictures from our recent trip to Colorado work PERFECTLY with this kit!

I got the idea for the above layout from a CTMH friend...Michelle Snyder.  She used her layout for on of the UP characters.  And it gave me the idea to use it for our trip to Colorado!  It works so good I can't believe it!  This layout I used our Make it From My Heart How to Book pattern #9.
I also used our 4 x 6 flip flaps (upper right).  Flip flaps are a GREAT way to get lots of pictures on a page without making LOTS of pages.

Then I was on a roll.  I added a little Olive cardstock and ran with it.  I was obsessed to use my ENTIRE pack.  All the scraps!  No left overs!!!
The above layout is from our Make it From My Heart # 6
Again I used flip flaps here...the 4 x 6 ones...I developed wallet size photos and put 2 of them in each flip flap.

This layout I used our Make it From Your Heart #7.  Oh and these letters and those in the other layouts are from our Artiste Cricut Cartridge.

Ok...this layout I used a 6 x 12 flip flap.  It is on the left page.  The flap is closed on this one.  The layout is from our Cherish How to Book - Visual Texture.

Here is the same layout with the flip flap open.  By adding a flip flap, I was able to get 4 more pictures on here without making anymore pages!!  How cool is that!

Then my last layout...it is from out Make it From My Heart #12.
And guess what!  I am all out of Buzz & Bumble paper!!!  YEA!!

If you would like to recreate these layouts, make sure you purchase your Buzz & Bumble paper pack, because it will be gone after July 31st (or when supplies run out).
If you have the paper pack, get it out and make some pages for your vacation!

June Monthly Group Layouts

Here are my monthly group layouts that we will be making in my June monthly groups.
There are so many cool ideas on these layouts...let me point out a few.
We are making this layout and using it for Mothers Day (if you want).  This layout is from our Magic How To Book.  The layout is called One Way Mirror.
First, see the title below?  It is my new favorite thing to do.  I stamped "favorite" with our Trinity Alphabet (one of my favorites because you get 3 different size alphabets and a set of numbers all in one stamp set!) and then I used my new favorite product...our Keyboard Kraft Alphabet stickers.  They are just $4.95 and you get 640 of these little letters & numbers!  LOVE IT!  This layout is also from our Magic How to Book.  Layout is called Now You See It.  Which is appropriate since I used one of our flip flaps on it.  See below for more info on that.
Then my next favorite product, our Trinkets wooden shapes.  See the arrow above.  There are 57 of these shapes in one pack for just $6.95.  Like I said in a previous post..I am on pack #3!  lol

Then here is the other cool part of this layout...I used one of our 12" flip flaps on the right side of the layout.  See how it flips open?  You can now get 6 more photos on ONE page!  These will save you time and money by not making additional layouts!  How cool is that!  If you want to see this in person, make sure you come to my group and make them!
Or to find out more about our Flip Flaps, just give me a call or email me!  I would love to show you how to use our Flip Flaps!
